No, there's no "artificial reality" in the sense that it replaced another realer reality. Instead, this is/was the only reality. There was always evolution of intelligence, there was always technological progress (fish, monkeys, fire, wheel,...) and it was always accelerating. Call it Schopenhauers' Will, call it Hegels' Spirit. The world never stood still, there was never a Christian God.
But at this point in time, the Spirit is moving so fast that the change it represent happens at a decades notice so that nobody can predict the technology in use of 10 years from now.

Any prerequisite reading for Schopenhauer's The World as Will and Representation? The only other philosophy I have read is Nicomachean Ethics, Meditations, Tao Te Ching, and many Partially Examined Life podcasts and School of Life videos
