His collapse theory is retarded, for one thing. His explanation for the Fermi Paradox only makes sense if you assume that self-prop systems are somehow confined to Earth, or fierce competition and the disastrous long term consequences leading to their destruction happens faster than self-prop systems can spread. If self-prop systems are continuously expanding out into space, there's always going to be an uncolonized frontier that is untouched by any long-term consequences resulting from human-originated self-prop systems.
