Derailing this thread with no survivors

I have two years off from institutionalized education. This means I have plenty of free time on my hands and I would like to look into a few topics that have gained my attention. I want to improve my academic writing, philosophical and political knowledge, logic and mathematical skills and historical knowledge. I'll also be doing some programming (irrelevant for this post) for University and my future job.

Also I'll be travelling throughout Europe. I may be hiking across Nordic countries too.

Any recommendations as to what I can do within those two years? Also the picture is slightly related.
