Is the progression of thought one dimensional in the sense that it can progress infinitely in one direction but is restricted from expanding in any other direction? If so, does this mean that God can think in an infinite number of dimensions, and trying to understand Him is like trying to envision a cube with just a y-axis? Are there any philosophers that explore this idea?

/lit/ how is it that some men are so intelligent and talented that millions of others devote their education and even entire lives to studying their accomplishments? Going to college this fall and the thought of taking classes devoted to an author's body of work puts things in perspective regarding the level of talent required to be known in the literary world.
