>At one point, Joyce became worried that he could not finish Finnegans Wake, asking the Irish author James Stephens to complete it if something should happen.
This is such a weird thought. Imagine the immense difficulty/ impossibility and burden of trying to complete the Wake on Joyce’s behalf. Imagine how awful it would’ve been had Joyce not completed it. But also, I imagine it pretty unlikely that anyone else would know that the book was actually unfinished had it been left in an incomplete state.
If you were James Stephens in this hypothetical situation, what would you do?

Faulkner admired Joyce, but Joyce didn't know of him. If he did, do you think he'd like Faulker?

Literature which has made you cry? I have yet to come across a story which touched me that deeply, but hope to come across one someday soon.

"At such moments I feel mad to do it in some filthy way, to feel your hot lecherous lips sucking away at me, to f*ck between your two rosy-tipped bubbies, to come on your face and squirt it over your hot cheeks and eyes, to stick it up between the cheeks of your rump and bugger you."
