God-tier advice. If humanity is gonna get its shit together, this kind of ethic needs to be internalized. Yeah, we all laugh at the world going to shit, but how many people are actively trying to make things less miserable? I work a mundane food service job with decent, but humble, pay. I still try to do my job as competently as I can. I even make a bit of a show about it sometimes when making orders for customers. Things to make them smile and sometimes pick them up when it's clear they're having a shit day. I might not have some prestigious career that grants me excess money or power, but at the very least I know I regularly meet people that are happy to see me. Puts a bit of pep in my step
