It hurts, bros. Worse, I can't even see the structure of the plot of a story. I wish I could blame it on the fact that math was so early in the morning, and back then I had perpetual, hard-as-steel morningwood, so obviously all the blood was in the wrong place. I agree on that about the the first book. Same narrative, carbon-copied characters. The rest are pretty original, though. That is unless you're gonna be all like "dude elves and dwarves, it's a Tolkien ripoff lmao."

The second book (Elfstones) and the Heritage tetrology are god-tier, famalamadingdong. Terry Brooks' prose/style is quite good by genre standards.

After the 90s, though, he became absolute fucking garbage.

I don't understand most fiction or why it should be gud. What should I do exercise my mind to better understand fiction and its layers?
