I guess this is essentially academic theory so I will throw out one my favorites. Fantastic book, along for the ride with a Brit obsessed with clouds, very informative and entertaining while staying away from reading like pop science, he never tries to delude the reader with analogies. Honorable mention, The Gunpowder Gardens, another book by an obsessed Brit, all about tea, a solid history lesson on the tea trade and tea culture around the world and his travels for tea.
