Yiddish Popo. I've only read a couple of his before and I can't say I love his work, but I like it. I kinda feel like I might like Chabon himself more than his actual writing but anyway I think he tells a good story.

With the kindle you never have the problem where your friend with chronic cheetohs fingers wants to borrow your books. You never have to loan out SHIT. When your degenerate, subhuman friend-creatures ask if they can read something of yours you can tell them that they can read your books IN HELL because you have a MOTHERFUCKING KINDLE and you are actually BETTER than they are. You can wipe the shit from your ass with the yellowed papers of their obsolete volumes and laugh in their faces as you rain hurtful insults on the hideous anachronisms which now cower before you. Every time one of the insipid dogs suggests a trip to the used book shop you are afforded the opportunity to level a gaze of contempt upon his person so devastating that he'll be afraid to come within 20 feet of any print for the remainder of his miserable life.

Yes, with the kindle you are truly elevated. You are more than human.

Totally feelin' you guys right now. Reminds me of my dear ol' great gran pappy. Way back in 19dickety2 he did something, and then some things happened which made life very difficult for him I'm sure, but such was life in (insert European country of your choice) and it was like that for a lot of people. Anyway he did some things and then yadda yadda boat to Ellis Island. He filled out his name and he was an American citizen, but they made him change the (Mc/stein/-ski/Ahmahdenijad) to Smith and he spent x years doing (terrible manual labor/factory work). Eventually he met my great gammie and they had 23 children, but 21 of them died because such was life in gran-pappie's time. Anyway then there were some more hardships and he didn't write a novel.

his prose was shit anyway

So y'know, has anything big transpired in what, the past month or month-and-a-half or whatever?

Did any of you kill Tao Lin?
Is Brax still the horrible, oppressive emperor and D&E the one chosen to destroy her/him?
Is there a big new (but actually not new just newly appreciated) author for the beginning of 2k11?
Have you made anything to equal that bird poetry thread?
