Pros:
I like that the entire setting was just a gigantic war economy bloodbath
I like that the fantasy power elements enabled and actively incentivized planned and unplanned solo acts of mass destruction or challenging powerful foes
I like that there was at least the implication of a diverse economy with various strategies to advance

Cons:
I didn't like any stupid subplot regarding the protagonist's family or acquaintances, especially the secret alien heritage one
I didn't like any of the romance-related writing
I didn't like the protagonist being an unga bunga axe man with no interesting abilities when he's basically a one man show
I find the combination of a "powerful" protagonist who is nonetheless perpetually reactive within the story to be highly manipulative and disingenuous
I didn't like how the story offers you a gigantic multiverse only to shackle the protagonist to his planet and settlement and thus the railroaded plot arising from its threats and problems
I didn't like the protagonist repeatedly taking risky fights because he implicitly knew plot armor would save him
I didn't like opaque, highly arbitrary stats that failed to give a proper understanding of the protagonist's growth
I didn't like how skills, daos, and classes were too generalistic and characters failed to have clear combat archetypes and distinct strategies as a result
I didn't like how the protagonist had a nonexistent personality due the author being aware that if he had a personality consistent with his actions and priorities it would be an extremely generic mary sue one

Please give me something else to read instead of this.

I came around on Reverend Insanity's previous 4 after determining Sarah Lin's would get a 5 for it's Cultivation alone. RI's Gu system shits all over Soulhome's, especially with its execution in the story.

I'm about 4 hours into it (was waiting for Mother of Learning to release) and there's already a great deal of lapses in character logic to facilitate the 'wonder of the narrative'. For someone who played MMOs all their lives, Zac sure forgets simple convention in favor of randomly knowing cultivation arrays and flag systems. We'll see how it goes, I guess.
