Alright /lit/ who are the most compelling characters you've come across in a novel? I'm talking characters you couldn't stop thinking about, even well after you finished the book.

For me it would have to be Prince Lev Nikolaevich Myshkin—the man bears a fascinating likeness to Jesus Christ and his devotion to subjugating his own needs and desires in favor of other people (whether he perceives them as acting with good motive or otherwise) is, to me, admirable to say the least. It's been quite a while since I've read the book, but I still find myself venerating Myshkin for his pureness of heart.
