For someone claiming to disagree with me you seem to be saying exactly what I propose. The lion isn't a lion because of his merit. He was born a lion.
What you conveniently forget here is that, especially in nature, the largest part of lions born will die of disease/starvation/thirst/mauled to death by other lions/hyenas, whatever. They will feel incredible amounts of pain and suffering that most people don't know, and die meaningless deaths.

Then one of them survives by being born close to a river, or close to an are with many gazelles, or in an area with less hyenas. People like you will cream themselves over this one survivor and make fantastic tales about him and the meaning of being strong and stoic.

Everything I said in my original post is amplified a million times in nature. People just double down on this survivorship bias because the alterantive, recognizing you don't control shit, is too scary for most.
