I said this is another thread but the stoicist quotes in this book are basically identical to what I've gotten from years of going to a good therapist. I remarked to him that stoicism was basically what we've been doing and he said he'd recently realized the same thing after practicing for many years.
My point is that the stoics were right and figured out things that most modern people still lack. It all works and some of it could set your life on a better trajectory.

I've been tricked into reading The Denial of Death and now this book The Practicing Stoic. Both have quickly improved my mental health, answered lingering questions and significantly changed my perspective on life.

I was planning on exploring philosophy in general but now I'm curious if there is something specific to follow with.
