Philosophy is like a difficult language with no easy introductory materials, so you can only learn it the old fashioned way, by reading real books in the language and slowly clawing your way into an understanding of it. It takes a few years to be comfortable with all the background knowledge you need to truly understand something like Kant at a philosophical level. That doesn't mean you shouldn't read him. You just shouldn't beat yourself up for not understanding everything the first time. The more you read, the more things will connect together and make reading easier.

There's no shame in having to read multiple intellectual histories and summaries of Kant's thought before feeling like you have a grasp on him. Eventually all this work will click together and you will have a firm foothold, and experience the satisfying feeling of reading something extremely difficult and technical but unconsciously knowing how it all hangs together.

You can do it OP.

>everyone hates the calvinists
>assume there must be something to them because come on, who could really be THAT bad
>how could an entire group of people with genuine religious feeling be joyless monsters?
>maybe their fatalist predestination YOU HAVE NO FREE WILL fetish is just exaggerated and that's really an oversimplification of a sincere piety?
>start reading about them
>nope it's all true
>"Then Calvin ordered everyone who disagreed with him to be burned alive, and when someone said 'whoa dude that's a bit much' he tried to burn them too"

What if the lack of evidence for God's existence is proof of His existence?
