I may just show clips from this to my 19th century French Lit class.

To put it relevant to the board, I would draw your attentions to Gankutsu-oh, an adaption of Dumas' Count of Monte Christo

Definitely get the unabridged version.

If you like the Count of Monte Cristo, and aren't averse to watching anime, I'd recommend Gankutsuou. It's basically the Count of Monte Cristo... IN SPACE.

Give it a shot. It's got a really interesting visual style.

Turns out there were actually no giant robot fights in the original.
