Similar to how any ideology seeks memetic supremacy they are trying to spread their seed. Their main methods of choice are intimidation, subversion, manipulation etc. Basically all the shitty ones.
A huge reason for this is the fact that they have no real moral core. Their religion is atheism. Atheism is a religion, and a most pernicious one because its motto is "We are not a religion." Which its followers will repeat with dogmatic fervor at the mere mention that they might, just maybe, be subscribing to the same ideological framework. Since this religion is young and unsophisticated it has no concept of sympathy for its Devils. It will attack them without mercy and sleep soundly because it believes that it is true, just and right. Like any other religion, but without the temperance and empathy that comes with age and spiritual roots.
It is a dogma that abhors creation. Its founding an exercise in stamping out the desire to create - out of fear that the creation will lead to dogma - that will lead to ignorance - that will lead to violence. So terrified they were of being wrong - they never dared try at all.
Atheism demands castration of the mind. It is cowardice that demands all others be cowardly.
What started as a pearl in the minds of geniuses - the idea that we could be free from dogma - was cast to the swine, and was subsequently turned to mud. Such is the fate of all great ideas.
