audiobooks are fine, they just shouldn't replace reading. reading actives different parts of your brain and makes you directly engage with the language in a way that audiobooks dont. that being said theres nothing inherently wrong with listening to stories, in fact for thousands of years oral tradition was the only medium of story telling. when I worked as a landscaper during highschool I would listen to audio books all day long because it kept my mind busy while doing repetitive labor.
