No I understand the the sensation and the socialogical effects that the general institution/social force can cause. I was mostly just refering to the theory and the essence of the religiousity rather than the consequences that it very well can inspire, I also had a similar experience, though not quite as extreme as yours i think.

Im not really practicing, but I can both apreciate the aspects of tradition and of more intuitive self made conceptions of theorycrafting.

THere is an implicitcy in tradition that is very much hard to simulate through pure mental praxis, often just devolving into a lack of inertia and you just start jerking off or whatever. But in another way a purity of explicity is found in a more mathmatical logical method. But in all of this, it may be a limitation in human behavior.

But again, i am a bit of a conceptual fence sitter lmao.

Lol no. At least not in most literary circle and even most high school circles. teachers kinda make it pretty bluntly obvious that a lot of the glitz is portrayed as being garish and debached and hollow. sounds like you are talking about the movie rather than the book

I think that is an increadably shallow interpretation of it. Not that it isnt a throughline in the bbok, but you are kinda just talking about what bluntly happenend in the book from a plot standpoint rather than the subtext that underlys it. Yes the poor get snubbed and the rich dont got to deal with anything hard and are synthetic, that is literally what happened in the book, and that is a point in the book. But I think you have to kinda be dence to say that it is the ONLY or even main point. A big part of the actual prose goes into what makes Gatsby himself great and the infatuation of the whole situation in itself. If anything, the infatuation is more the focus of the novel than the setting of poor get tossed rich go zoom.
