I just finished this. I'm not sure what to think of it. What is the house? Who built it? Is it conscious? Is the monster Truant sees an extension of the house of just a hallucination? What were the claw marks on the floor of Zampano's apartment? What was the theme?

So many questions.

What are your interpretations, /lit/?

Has /lit/ read this? Considering getting it but want to hear opinions first.

I got really into the actual story in this book about the house and hallway ,but I find the parts about that guy going to bars and fucking girls or whatever unbearable. I don't even know the characters name because I just breeze through his parts or straight out skip it.
I'm I screwing myself later on?

Anything I should know before I start this?

Someone recomended this to me, is it as pretencious as it seems or what?

Hey /lit/, I've been stuck in a vacuum where 99.9% of what I read is either textbooks or academic journals or internet articles. I'm feeling desperately in need of something philosophical or pensive or just anything that isn't a report on the geochemical signature of IOCG bodies.

What's the scariest book you have ever read? I recently read House of Leaves and really liked it, but I don't think it was the scariest thing I have ever read.

Do you guys have any good horror books that will make me want to crawl under my sheets and hide? Can be about monsters and ghost stories or good old psychological horror.

is this as great as people say it is?

and if not, please recommend a dark book that will haunt me for the rest of my life.

I know this is far more /mu/ territory but I thought that some of you might enjoy it.

I made a semi-orchestral album based on the events portrayed in NR section of Danielewski's "House of Leaves" using different themes and leitmotifs, instrumentation and other compositional techniques to define the characters and events musically.

This book...

I've had it on my shelf for a few years now. Some strange kid that lived on my dorm floor recommended it to me one night... might have been the only pleasant conversation I ever had with the dude.

I bumped into it at fucking Borders like a few weeks or months after that, and I guess I was intrigued by the fucking thing because I bought it.

But yeah, never got around to reading it.

Now I've started (I'm up to the end of the introduction) and I have to ask... is all that hype for real?

And is it more than just a gimmick?
