Why is he so bad at setting up twists, dose he just not care or do it on purpose? I just finished "The whisperer in darkness" and was i supposed to be shocked at the ending? There's even a part in the story where the thing is like "But don't touch that new looking cylinder that has your friend's anme on it wink wink" moment. Same thing with "The case of Charles Dexter Ward" he simply gives out too many clues and pretty much spells it out to you before the reveal, you could see the ending from the half way point in..
