Why does self improvement not work unless you're under some totalitarian dictatorship that restricts access to you because of your (Permanent) outward features. The past can be forgotten, personalities can change, and your fat ass can shrink.

I'd go as far to say none of this is even /lit/ related. Go on /lgbt/ and start a thread about trans books and get out of /lit/

No because I have a job and as such don't have the time to waste learning a whole bunch of languages just for the sake of reading books for enjoyment when there are translations or alternative books available.

Yes it probably loses some flavor in the translation.

Hi /lit/, newfag on this board here.

I'm searching for a fine collection of psychology books and i don't really know where to start.
I never attended college, but i'm just passionate about reading about the inner minds of people, and how famous authors saw the world. So i prefer non-fiction. Even books with poems, verses or quotes about love, politics or life would be great.

Are there any books that /lit/ definitely want me to read? Prefer English or Dutch.
