so how 'bout it c/lit/oris?

Hey /lit/ I just received a big box of books I ordered from Amazon. Since I'm about to finish the current book I'm reading (John Dies at the End by David Wong, sadly I didn't think to order Book Full of Spiders). I was wondering if you guys could help me decide what to read next.
Here's what I got:

Dearly Devoted Dexter by Jeff Lindsay
Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk
The Hitchhicker Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
Jam by Yahtzee Croshaw

Any Ideas?

I am currently loving John Dies at the End

and next I'm ether going to read Dearly Devoted Dexter, Haunted (Palahniuk) or The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

Did /lit/ like John Dies at The End?

I read the book or at least tried to, way too many consecutive plot arcs, it felt like reading several seasons of a tv show one after the other. I got fed up and dropped it about 3/4 the way through because just I couldn't give a damn anymore.

I've read longer books that felt like less of a chore. I'd never thought I'd say this, but maybe the movie will be better.

I am a few chapters into David Wong's John Dies at the end and I just have to say What the actual fuck am I reading???

Just ordered this.

How late am I?

And was it worth the hype?

I'm looking for something really psychological. Where the main character sees the world like a crazy person. I'm not talking psychedelic half-page descriptions of colors and shit, I'm talking he's paranoid and things the whole world's against him.

I guess that's a shitty description of what I want, but that's pretty much what I'm looking for.

Friend asked me if I wanted to borrow it. Good/bad?

Has anyone read this? It's by a www.cracked.com writer, and there are some pretty great writers over there. Another cracked writer wrote a book called Everything is going to Kill Everybody, and it's quite possibly the funniest book I've ever read. This is apparently a comedy horror something else... and it sounds awesome.

Has anyone read it? Opinions? Reviews seem completely polarized.

this is my first time in /lit/ and i just wanted to all of your opinions on this book, also i want to know if it's classified as underrated or overrated

i would like to know if there are any other modern/recent books as funny and interesting as this one. thanks for your help in advance

After disliking it at first, liking it a little after a few chapters, I'm right back to disliking it.

The writing is bad. Sub-par if you're feeling generous.

It's not like, intolerable or anything. Certainly not Meyer, but I just don't like any of the characters and the plot is pretty much Baby's First Mindfuck. I guess I'll put it down for a while and pick up The Road or maybe try and finish Lolita.

I may end up giving it to my cousin. He ate up World War Z and he's the kind of guy who thinks the X-Men cartoons from the 90's were high art, so I'm sure he'll find it stimulating at least.

What did you /lit/erati think of it? Doesn't look like it's for me.

Started reading this, the writing is sorta meh so far. Should I solider on and expect it to grow on me? I'm not that far in.
