>Yet you do. Just not religious/metaphysical belief. Why would you choose belief of an inferior order?
And what do I believe in again? The absence of belief is not a belief, and it is not the same as the rejection of it.
>A belief that there is no higher justification.
Again, look up.

>Because there is more than just rational reason?
Yet neither can you, or anyone else, prove or justify that.
>There is a reason the ancients wrote about concepts such as the soul, man is more than just a mathematical machine.
Can you quantify, prove, or reason that? If not, it is just as baseless and nonsensical a claim.

>But what do I know. Most people who live without a higher goal only live for escapism and hedonism, which is pretty sad.
And what is your higher goal? What is the motivator? Where do you derive meaning for it from? I genuinely am curious.
For me, the issue of how to live is more so a psychological and moral one than it is a metaphysical, and it is not an objective one, but rather built on the path of least resistance. It is the constant choice between the lesser of two evils. Philosophy addresses the question of either living or suicide, and the rest is dependant on the person.
How you are wired, the experiences that shaped you, your psychology and physiology, pretty much everything that makes you human. You can aspire to maximise pleasure, set yourself some arbitrary, grand goal that you do nothing but work towards, or anything in between, it is all the same, so long as it aids in your continuing to live.

>What religion did you grow up in?
One of the Abrahamic ones, since they all have pretty much the same plot.

Actually enjoy chatting to you Anon

A very rich individual wants to give you 2 billion dollars, but you have to rewrite the percy jackson series into a mature high art masterpiece. How do you do it?

I read Parasite by Darcy Coates, which from what I understand is her only sci-fi horror novel; the rest being gothic horror. I love anything that resembles the setup of The Thing, Alien, Event Horizon, Dead Space, etc., so I breezed through it in about a day and loved every minute. It was even divided into different perspectives of people like characters in a spooky video game.

I have no background in philosophy or reading it so I'm certainly not going to read Hegel, but since this board obsesses over him, is this video at all accurate? If so, this is stuff I pretty much already agree with.

I am trying to find a writer to work with and make short films. Is there a way to find this person that doesn't require me to read through hundreds of shitty short stories? My lazy way of doing this hunt so far has involved listening to creepy pasta shorts stories cause it's something I can do while I drive to work at night. Problem is that most creepy pastas are awful.

I've also been thinking of just hiring a writer to re work my short scripts into something not bad but not sure where to even begin looking for that.

tldr: how do I find a writer to work and is there a quick way to filter the crappy ones

Not sure how many people here are LARPing, but I actually write longhand with any pen on the cheapest spiral bound notebook I can find. It's slower than typing and helps me think. From there I punch it in to any text editor that has page wrap.

Be honest with criticism. Trying something different:

Did a vehicle
Come from somewhere out there
Just to land in the Andes?
Was it round
And did it have
A motor
Or was it
Something
Different

Did a vehicle
Fly along the mountains
And find a place to park itself
Or did someone
Build a place
To leave a space
For such a vehicle to land

Did a vehicle
Come from somewhere out there
Did a vehicle
Come from somewhere out there
Did the indians, first on the bill
Carve up the hill
