You fuckers didn't tell me this book was scary.

I'm trying to break my masturbation habit, and I've gotten very far along, but I keep turning back to looking at porn and erotica. I feel like this is the most porn-saturated period in the history of the world. In the Middle Ages, you didn't have to deal with this stuff. The best odds you would have had of having something to wank off to were either a powerful thought you'd have or if you happened to see the local duchess in all her finery and plumpness. This is the most challenging period in history in which to avoid jerking off.

I suppose I do need to read more modern poets, like Stevens and Ashbery. I'm a bit weak there at the moment.

Keats wrote most of his great odes in a single Spring in 1819. Imagine churning out some of the greatest works in the English language over the course of a few weeks.

Once upon a time I wrote reams of erotica related to my fetishes. My disgusting, degenerate smut earned me a certain amount of renown, at least under my pseudonym.

Then I became more religious, and apart from giving up reading erotica, I also gave up writing it, because I realized I was leading people into sin.

How do I get into ghostwriting, /lit/? It seems like a lucrative career.

I just realized the very first stanza of the narrative poem I have out for submission has one less line than the other stanzas of the poem. I hope this isn't held against me too much by the magazines to which I submitted.

I have a number of short stories out for submission to magazines, and I also have a short story collection out for submission with a small press. I'm crossing my fingers that this is the year I start to break out as a writer. I've already had a few short stories published, but they've been in smaller venues. Last year I got a lot of personalized rejection letters from the magazines and websites where I sent my stories, so I feel like I may be close.
