>I'm a new author, and very interested to hear if anyone has any marketing advice for me, since I'm so new to this.

You might dig into the career of Keith C. Blackmore a little bit (his name is apparently a pseudonym). He seems to have carved out a very nice little niche for himself writing zombie books, on the one hand, and fantasy/other on the other.

His breakthrough title was Mountain Man, a very entertaining zombie book. That caught fire a little bit, and he published several good-quality sequels (although none were as good as the first!), and just kept on turning out new product on a regular basis. All of that product has turned into what I gather is a fairly decent revenue stream. He's successful enough at this point that several of his titles have been released in Audible versions, complete with professional narrator. The guy has really come a long way.

If you go to his Amazon author page, you can find a link to his blog, and the blog has entries dating back pretty much to the beginning of his writing career, with ongoing notes on new releases, and things of that nature, that would, perhaps, give you some guidance on how one successful writer, who basically started from nothing, made a nice little career for himself (or so it appears), primarily (although not exclusively) through Amazon ebook sales.

The last thread I asked for some good zombie apocalypse novels. I was playing Dying Light which got in the mood for more zombie realted media. Naturally I came here to ask for recommendations.
The first answer was just insulting, bringing up crap like Dresden Files.
I would like to thank the anon who recommended me the Mountin Man by Keith C. Blackmore. It had all the necesessary components for a pleasant post-apocalyptic reading including, unfortunately, the cartonishly crazy evil character sticking like a sore thumb.
It's like Walking Dead (the comic, not the series) all over again. You can't go 50 miles without stumbling upon some power tripping, self destructive lunatic. It seems to be a bog standard trope in zombie apocalype sub-genre (along with the "the real monsters are the humans") but I find it really annoying.
The writing was okay, the premise was standard, but the "villain" (besides the hordes of shambling undead) made me drop the book.
