the simple solution is to put yourself on a strict buying freeze until you've read everything you own. i did this once and it took almost two years to work through the backlog but it was totally worth it.

the more radical konmari option is to just get rid of every book you haven't read today. the correct time to read a book is when you first encountered it. unread books are books not being treated properly, and you shouldn't abuse your things. if later it turns out your really wanted to read one of the books you get rid of, just buy it again. now you'll know how important it was to you
