>Dostoevsky lived in a monarchist state built on serfdom in the early to mid 19th century.

So what? You live in an country where major movie studios produce Che Guevara biopics and any sort of normal racial in-group preference is pathologized.

>In the country his beliefs were very centrist and yes (big shock) he supported the power of the government under which he lived and was skeptical of change.

In other words, a person's individual beliefs hold no weight, only their arbitrary placement on an ever shifting political spectrum. Artists with right-wing political views are a product of their time, and their most deeply held beliefs or the themes in their works are irrelevant to an assessment of their politics. This, however, is not true of left-wing writers whose beliefs are not a product of their time and represent an unbroken philosophical tradition.

The stuff Dostoevsky believed and wrote about isn't even far removed from a modern political context (if anything, he's usually described as prophetic), so it's weird as hell that you're trying to make it sound like I'm saying Sophocles would have been some sort of Pepe-spamming Alt-Right dude or something.

>That does not make him "far-right" in the modern sense, you fucking ingrate.

You know that people still hold Dostoevsky's views today, and they're considered far-right, don't you? "Far-right" doesn't mean member of the Republican Party. How can you be this myopic? No one is saying that he's an American-style Republican, which would be silly, but he is objectively far-right. Get over it.
