Not that anon but from reading it, I was bored and uninterested. Nothing about it really hooked me I can tell you have studied literature in some capacity because of the variety of metaphors and similes etc..
But it felt unoriginal and almost as if you were writing with a checklist of things instead of writing about something you cared about.
Also you could have shortened it alot, we don't really need a super descriptive account of the field he's in and the part with the angel saying his wife had the same fate as the grass at the end was just dumb and cliche.

You can have as much technicality as you want but if I don't care about what your writing what's the point.
