Why does /lit/ get so butthurt when John Green calls the Odyssey sexist? The book was written almost 3000 years ago, it's not like it's a shocking revelation that it would be sexist, and there's still a lot about the story to enjoy in 2018 in spite of that.

Well if you want easy books that aren't fantasy, sci-fi, horror, or any other kind of speculative fiction...

Try John Green? I didn't like The Fault in Our Stars, but Turtles All the Way Down was decent if you can get past the cringe.

Well, I didn't like The Fault in Our Stars at all. His characters do come off as obnoxious a lot of the time (breakfast foods etc). And with Turtles All the Way Down, you'll still have to read passages like pic related which are either hilariously cringe-worthy or just plain bad depending on who you are.

But Aza's compulsions are pretty accurate depictions of OCD (the fact that Green has it himself really shows) and the parts where she is in an existential crisis were pretty interesting. If you can stomach Wookie fan fiction, I'd recommend reading Turtles All the Way Down over anything else he's written.
