What is a good book centered around jewish character in a similar way as pic related.
I'm looking for something that gives a good insight on a community in the same way as Mahfouz's Cairo trilogy shows the lifestyle of Egyptian muslims in the early XX century. One example i can think of is "The Golem", but i'm looking for something a little more modern.
