We post our terrible OC poetry. English is not my first language, so pardon my spelling.

Dearly departed
we are not all gathered here today
but know that we are forever engrained
into to the face of this earth
and the faces of those we leave behind
because your blood runs deep
in the soil of the hills where you lived when you were child
and your breath trails in the wind
that keeps kites afloat in the summer sky
and that you shall never
be anywhere
but home again

These are the days of fighting back
because we have something to fight towards
and though these are days of great loss
we have never gained so much
words have turned to bullets that scar the body
but tear the soul
and i struggled to dig this grave today
hitting every memory of you on the way down

1 foot deep,
I shoveled spring days at the lake together
2 feet deep,
I hit a rock consisting purely of the songs you sang when it rained
3 feet in,
the grave began to pool with the blue of your eyes
but i did not fear drowning
for i had drowned everyday in their absence
The 4th,
my shovel broke and i tore the earth
with the hands that still held the impression of yours
The 5th,
I fell into the hole
that had been two Christmas's without you
And on the 6th foot,
I found every homesick letter you filled
with everything that you took into that desert

And i believe you have followed them back
in a neatly starred and striped envelope of your own
made of cold wood and the apologies of a man i do not know
But i know you
and this land knows you
and it will know you again
and you shall never
be anything
but home again

Are there any good books about that feel when no gf?

had film and tv now gotten to a point where it can have just as much depth, insight, commentary and the same level of artistic importance as literature? and with film and tv both being more popular, easily digestible and less time consuming, does this mean that the popularity of books will continue to fall?

are there any writers you have liked enough to read eveything of? im currently working my way through the works of fitzgerald, mccarthy and vonnegut and hope to eventually read everything they ever wrote
