I regularly wrote papers on the ontological/historical justification for the destruction of Israel and got it published in the school's journals multiple times unironically. Jewish profs and idf recruitment groups tried to get it censored and me expelled multiple times but it never worked. Had issues with a paper I wrote justifying early modern minority tolerance destroying empires, notably the ottomans in the balkans, the mughals, and the Qing. Bulgarian professor failed me so I filed a complaint under public uni free speech doctrines and got the grade revoked. Also had many neocon/right wing profs(mainly in the economics department) trying to "cancel me" after the israel paper by refusing to admit me into their classes.
What I'm saying is that people complaining about this are just fucking pussies. It was the same in the past with unorthodox ideas. It is always risky and will have backlash. Just don't mistake backlash as an an indicator that you're correct(you're most likely retarded) and don't assume it was ever any different before
