I am almost finished with ASD and even have the movie waiting to be watched afterward. How faithful is it?

I finished House of Blades earlier, hoping the upcoming tropes and plot lines presented in Crimson Vault aren't horribly cliched. Also want my boy Simon to have anything positive happen to him

Fuck me I don't know what to read right now. I'd like to find short story collections involving traveling large distances through space, or progression of technology on a long-term scale but everything has been fruitless thus far.

How embarrassing.

I finished the War of Souls trilogy. Not sure how I like the ending but it works, considering the equal sacrifice. It feels like a three-book story was wrapped up in about five pages, though. It all just suddenly hit a resolution. I didn't like some of the more asspull-y concepts either, like the random draconians showing up at the end to help Sanction. I felt that the overall trilogy could have dragged ass a little less although it gives the sense that a LOT of shit is happening, especially with all the foreshadowing and perspective shifts.
I don't really care for Mina so I don't know how I'll like the next main trilogy, especially how it starts with fucking Chemosh seducing Mina. Almost makes me feel like the authors are writing just to write at this point but I have one trilogy after this one then I'm done.

It's not biological but Revelation Space has the Melting Plague. Granted, the entire story does not revolve around it but it is a significant aspect of the background setting in its influence upon all advanced technology.
