I think it's a good thing.

Even if theology is a retarded distraction from the more important things in the world, the fact that more and more Christians are actually wanting to read their own bibles means more and more Christians are actually going to walk away Atheists, Agnostics, Pantheists, Deists.

And that can only mean good for the world in the long run, and the deconstruction of religious barriers. And increased societal cooperation or whatever.
