This is why there is no zoomer literature, especially from men. How can you turn that life experience into something interesting or insightful?
Pic rel is for the oldfags.

/lit/, what should I have done? [PIC NOT WHOLLY RELATED]
>go to used bookstore
>head to the Literature/Modern Literature aisle
>only other person is a woman around my age (late 20's)
>I can tell she's serious because she's scanning every single book throughout the whole section (just like I am)
>she's also accumulating quite a stack in her arms (no basket, just like me)
>we both browse in peace and pass each other twice while browsing
>I never said anything or looked at her
I did however find Pamela and Clarissa by Samuel Richardson, Tristram Shandy by Lawrence Stern, The Passion Knight by John Hawkes, The Last Voyage of Somebody the Sailor by John Barth, Nabokov's Short Stories, The Mezzanine by Nicholson Baker, Fermata by Nicholson Baker, and The Crystal World by J.G. Ballard.
Do you guys think I missed an opportunity?

None of you understand the importance of browsing a bookstore (used or chain or independent) or a library's stacks. Unfortunately, the lack of this skill often leads to a lack of taste and a lack of confidence in trying a book which you've never heard of before. Most of you rely on the "canonical" nature of a book to even consider reading it. None of you will read a book unless you feel it is "pre-approved". Start browsing shelves. Start taking risks. Actually develop some taste you charlatans. Browsing shelves are important because it lets you know what other books are out there, and what other books are related. I can't tell you how many books I discovered by just browsing a shelf and taking a chance on it.

I guess what I am saying is you fag dark academia zoomers are too focused on "curated" images.

Margaret Atwood. She wrote far more than "The Handmaid's Tale". Check out the MaddAddam trilogy...very good cyberpunk.

Octavia Butler. Not sure if it's formally sci-fi, but sure feels like it. Weird enough to be in the same ballpark as Philip K. Dick himself (PBUH).

Ursula K. LeGuin. "The Dispossessed" and "The Left Hand Of Darkness" had some incredible worldbuilding. "The Lathe Of Heaven" was weird enough to give Philip K. Dick a run for his money.

Ayn Rand, of course. How many writers accidentally start their own philosophical society? Nuff said.

Just use a free open-source outline editor like TreeLine.

Can we share stories about women and books? You know, like women approaching you when you're reading a book, or how reading a book helped you get a woman? Or just stories about art hoes? Mine's not exciting but it's an example of what I'm talking about
>sitting in a bay window in the geology building at my university
>I'm just killing time before my freshman "Rocks with Jocks" class starts
>pull out my copy of Snuff by Chuck Palahniuk
>start reading
>time passes and this kind of hot older girl walks by
>in retrospect she reminds me of a younger version of my high school english teacher I found attractive
>she says, "Hey, I just wanna let you know that's a fucking good book. I hope you enjoy it dude."
>Thanks, I'm enjoying it so far
>she keeps on walking and never stopped walking during this brief interaction
>always wonder if it could've lead to something more

Does reading improve your writing? Or is there a special type of reading you have to do?

Is there anything philosophically solid that survives from Spinoza, something that Descartes would never have said.
I feel the guy was just stirring the pot and thus influential, but would anybody today pledge allegiance to Spinozas actual ideas?

Post a /lit/ Queen and the last number of your post is what she does to you:
0: Farts in your face
1: Holds your head down with her foot
2: Makes you eat out her ass
3: Shits in your mouth
4: Rapes you
5: Teases you and plays with your tiny dick
6: Makes you watch while she fucks another man
7: Pisses on you
8: Cock cage
9: Financially dominates you and takes away all disposable income
