I really like reading, but have had trouble with it since I was a kid. For some reason I always get overwhelmed by large books, and have trouble committing to a book unless I'm really enjoying it. I'm told by my psychiatrist that this is very common for other people with Major Depressive Disorder like me. For some reason when I'm not feeling great and my mental health is bad, the thought of even just picking up a book makes me nervous. However when I'm happy I love to read and can easily devour an 800 page book in about a week.

Other people have referred to me as "a little off" sometimes, and I agree with them. I come to /lit/ mainly to find new books to read when I'm feeling okay, and not in one of my dips.
