My senior year (in high school) AP literature professor carried the stereotype of the "crazy cat lady", but every single work she assigned (Jude the Obscure, Jane Eyre, The Sound and the Fury, To the Lighthouse, The Tempest) I enjoyed immensely, and even her poetry section (which I normally despise) I found very enjoyable. The workload was heavy but the reward was great. She was always challenging us to read fairly challenging authors like Woolf, Faulkner, Joyce, and various poets, and all the memories I have of her are great. She died a few years after I graduated :(
