DOES ANYONE KNOW OF AN ARTICLE OR TEXT THAT TELLS OF OR CONTAINS JEROME DAVID SALINGER'S OPINION ON JAMES JOYCE OR IF HE HAD ANY OPINION OF JAMES JOYCE?

I THINK THAT HE MUST HAVE AN OPINION ON HIM SINCE JAMES JOYCE WAS FRANCIS SCOTT FITZGERALD'S "IDOL" AND FRANCIS SCOTT FITZGERALD WAS JEROME DAVID SALINGER'S, BUT I DO NOT KNOW IF HE EVER STATED IT OR COMMENTED SOMETHING ON JAMES JOYCE.

Greetings /lit/. I've been reading up on this baaaaaad motherfucker right here recently and I really want to read his works. I think I'm going to buy Ulysses soon. What are your opinions on James Joyce?

Starship Troopers by Robert Heinlein- I think I was around this time that I started coming to /lit/. I was hearing good things about it. I enjoyed it. The political message was a bit heavy handed, was it wasn't overbearing like it was in The Fountainhead. I'm anti-war and a socialist, so its good to hear an opposing viewpoint now and again. The action scenes were good.

A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce- I liked this because I related a lot to Stephen, though Stephen is probably smarter, yet also more idealistic than me. I liked how freaked out he was after the sermon on hell. Growing up in a religious household, I understand the guilt. I thought the prose in the earlier part of the book was actually better than the later half. It has a beautiful simplicity to it.

Orlando by Virginia Woolf- Wanting to try Virginia Woolf again, I decided to read Orlando. It was more interesting than Mrs. Dalloway. I will probably read it again to understand the way it all works together. The ways in which the different ages and genders were described was well done.

More to come
