Hey /lit/

I'm pretty new here. I've decided I want to start reading more and work through some of the classics.

I read this last weekend. I was wondering what other people thought about it? I'm not too sure about this book. I loved the general themes of the book but I didn't really feel connected to the characters in a way that I absolutely did with 1984.

Does anyone have any infopics of decent classics or books I should read for someone new to /lit/

Brave New World thread, insights on the book, things that you caught that others might not have. Just finished be book and wanted to see what you guys thought.

I just finished Brave New World and I really enjoyed it. I know it's supposed to be about a dystopia but I found the envisioned world to be more like a utopia. Sure arts really suffer but there are so many benefits to that society. Also I think Huxley had a good prediction of the world we live in today. I think the book does a much better job predicting todays society than 1984. Thoughts?

Found myself questioning what is free will more than the big brother watching/controlling us aspect.

To be frank I never read Brave New World. I've been getting a lot of shit from friends because I have yet to read it. What did you think of it? Is it worth the read?

Anyone tell me anything about Arthur Koestler's' The Gladiators or Darkness at Noon?
