I've been gone for about a year because the board had gotten so unbelievably bad. You could count the thread that were about books on one hand and even then it was about the same 5 books. The threads were either about some minor "/lit/" celeb who gives middling opinions on sociological or philosophical, political or religious threads, straight up blogposting hidden as rec threads, and other garbage I've blocked from my mind. This is the first thread on /lit/ I've entered in a year, please tell me things are no longer that bad? I can't believe there was a time i complained about /lit/ being like pic related

I took this screenshot because I was making fun of how many frog threads there were but /lit/ just keeps getting worse. It's all religion threads, /pol/ or /r9k/ threads, or surface level philosophizing with no reference to any text. They should make a phil board where religion shit is allowed too. It doesn't help that no one here reads so all actually literature threads is about the 5 same books like C&P or The Stranger

I took this screenshot in annoyance but now I kind of miss it. Back then I didn't think /lit/ could get worse. Who could've accounted for that r*ddit migration? Also, more people are reading because of lock down so more plebs who've only read the stranger and maybe 184
