This desu. I go to bed around 10:30, so if I start reading at 9:30 I'm not exactly struggling to keep my eyes open. There's been a bunch of studies that show reading before bed helps you sleep, and blue light (computer screens/phones) makes it harder (inb4 f.lux).

In short, it guarantees an hour of reading a day, prepares me for bed and helps to keep a consistent sleep schedule.

He doesn't seem like a LARPer to me. His prose is a bit purple and edgy, but pretty much everything on the internet in 2007 was quite edgy desu. He comes off as a very amiable and level-headed guy in interviews and (dare I say it) his reddit AMA.

This. It's not saying very much, but this is probably the Internet's premier highbrow discussion board.

I also prefer Social Matter to Thermidor - SM seems more NRx while Thermidor is more Duginist.

I'd recommend Standpoint magazine for its long essays.

The Spectator is alright but it can often seem quite undergraduate, smart-alecy and slapdash (eg, much of their commentary on Brexit)
