WW2 was pretty crazy desu. it's difficult to comprehend how fresh it all is, people involved are still alive. The entire thing is going to get mythologised extremely hard in the coming years, Hitler's already been painted as a mystical figure in every possible light, especially with the nazi's esoteric escapades. It's already happening, but I think what happened with Jesus will happen with Hitler; an entire religious movement, for better or for worse, will form around one man. I get what you mean, Europe's history these past few hundred years has been unbelievably romantic as well as tragic, and her story will likely be considered the Greek tragedy to end all Greek tragedies. The reason it hasn't happened is because the tale isn't over yet, Europe needs to die first. Only then, probably hundreds of years from now, will Europe get her own Iliad

Books about how the behavior of collective groups of people is molded and how it can be consciously changed?

I'm looking for books that talk about how different products, designs and mechanisms have been historically exploited for illegal purposes, and how society has responded to that.

For example, how security tools such as safes and alarms systems have evolved over the years as criminals figured out how to bypass them, how certain legal products could transformed into explosives or some other hazardous material by terrorist groups and had to be banned or regulated, architecture that proved too vulnerable to burglars and what changes followed, even models of urban planning that lead to instability and had to be discarded. Basically, books about how we exploit the things around us, and how they evolve to anticipate that. Thanks.

As proven by history, if you're an actually skilled writer you'd be able to transition between different genres and formats with ease, so there's no reason why writing a book should be an obstacle to writing a movie, or a video game, or an audio drama, or a documentary, or a comic book, or a play, or an arg, or a short movie, or anything else. If you have the opportunity to make money and a name for yourself in a different medium, seize it.

Some people might be intimidated by the thought and turn up the literary purist LARP as a response, but that's just a self-defense mechanism. Real artists actually tend to be excited by a change in the parameters they have to operate with. It's like when Brian Eno was hired to make the start-up sound of Win95 and he ended up autistically addicted at making those 5-second sounds, the format itself is just an outlet, the creative vision exists beyond it. If you're a "writer" and you can't conceive of creative ways to use the mechanics and devices of video game to tell a story, you're probably just not that talented.

>Author writes a book about a young woman who gets pushed in front of a moving car by a spurned lover

>Years later, author gets pushed in front of a moving train by a deranged homeless man

Is this what they call "poetic justice"?

>Who should I read to address this?
The Holy Bible. Read Genesis. Read it very slowly and carefully, it's a very dense text. Adam and Eve are created with the ability to choose. What did they do with this ability? They ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Nevermind the serpent for now. The important point is given a choice they disobeyed.

If you want to read more about sin or the problem of evil read Aquinas. He explicitly answers this question. Evil can only come from good, and all men (being created) are good. Ergo: evil may exist through him.

Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Lo-lee-ta: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth. Lo. Lee. Ta. She was Lo, plain Lo, in the morning, standing four feet ten in one sock. She was Lola in slacks. She was Dolly at school. She was Dolores on the dotted line. But in my arms she was always Lolita.

After watching World Star Hiphop and Liveleak for the entire day instead of being productive I've been inspired to write a urban science fantasy superhero story about a guy and his two cousins that died in a gasleak at a pizza chain and wake up in an alternate version of their world populated by ghosts. Nearly everyone is a complete piece of shit from your typical trash to serial killers, cannibals, etc. The protagonist and his cousins get invited to a less shit community after finding out they have powers and decide to clean up the streets as "best" as they can.

Well my I just earned my MA. I've been ignoring my advisor's emails for months but now that I turned it in I had to come see her. Of course she immediately brought up a doctorate, the subject I had been avoiding. She really thinks it's something I should go for. I don't particularly want it. Or anything else except some easy, lucrative job that doesn't take up much time. I have money though. Should I go for it? It was re-moralizing to hear her say so many positive things about me, but most of the time I feel terrible.
