People keep saying these really obvious things in conversation as if they have just invented hot water.
I can't deal with it.

Can anyone else just "not read" some days (especially after a shitty night's sleep)?

I'm trying to pick up literature as a hobby, but I don't think I'm cut out for it as my attention span may be too thin. I can read posts on 4chan just fine, of course, but long, sustained reading is what trips me up.

Also, time doesn't appear to move quickly when I'm reading. With my old hobbies the hours would just slip by-I could look up and it would be time for bed. With reading, 30 minutes seems like a lifetime. When I was younger I could really get in the zone and read for hours at a time, but I think those times may be over.

Anyone else experience something similar?
