Do logical and quantitative philosophy books help in the understanding of mathematics? Any recs?

Which do you prefer- referential literature (joyce, works of criticism) or more self expressive pieces? Not to say that Joyce and critics don't express themselves in their works.

What is the most beautiful English prose that you have ever read? What is the practice of implementing the beauty of poetry into prose?

What is the heaviest book you have ever read? Why? Either in message or in weight.

What is the /lit/ guide for artistic/moral metaphysics? I see a lot of threads focusing on the logical half of the question, and I've been trying to be adept in said half, but I do understand that one needs both halves to understand truth.
