>MFW when writing a web novel that’s essentially the protagonist trying to provide for his family and raising his newborn.
I can understand why there’s so few of them. Trying to balance that shit is extremely difficult and almost not worth it.

I can’t seem to focus on my writing, no matter how hard I try. I feel like I’m preemptively failing.

I have to ask for those who are writing novels that are a bit dark. At what point does it become edgy? I let someone I trust read my rough draft and all she could say was that what I wrote can be a bit tamer and less edgy. Which threw me at a loop since what I thought wasn’t edgy. A bit morbid, yes, but not edgy. Especially since I’ve been foreshadowing it since the prologue. I’m at a loss on what to do and her criticism made me feel hesitant to continue.
