a quick aside:

the long sun was a slower burn, but the set up for the short sun series was worth it, and the realization about the setting took me longer on a blind read and by the end I was quite invested as well.

I'm almost halfway through The Book of the Long Sun and honestly I'm disappointed. Does it get better? I loved The Book of the New Sun but this one is too boring

I am a complete pleb when it comes to scifi, I recently read New Sun and Short Sun and was wondering where to go from there, what sort of books are similar.

I also thought Dying Earth was interesting
