Men have written far more terrible books that women. Women write terrible books as well, but there are more male authors. It sounds like you just have some sort of deep-seated misogynistic tendency. You probably suspect that the writing is done by a woman, look back to confirm that it is, and then automatically assume a biased position toward the writing from there on out, noticing only the bad point of the writing as evidence for your beliefs. I know this because you seem to think that men do not write bad books, and thus when you feel that some writing is "iffy," and you see that it is written by a man, you must bias yourself toward accepting the writing as decent.

Just fucking read every book you want to. Buy your favourite ones, when you get to whatever age you might notice you've got a few shelves of books, and a fuck-ton of pdf's and kindle books.
