There's nothing to save you here. I've had what I call death-tremors since I was as a kid. You could try turning to religion, but I reckon that your fear would just be turned into doubt. Their frequency luckily lessen with time. Read the existentialists, I guess. Best I can do as far a suggestion goes. It's not a cope but at least it gives you some sense of a fellow-feeling, some sense of not being alone in it.

I've read the classics, the modernists, the postmodernists.

I have read Dostoevsky, I have read Tolstoy, I even read Turgenev.

I have read a good deal of Proust.

I have read a book about a kangaroo.

I have read classic fiction, experimental fiction, nonfiction.

I have read a few women.

I have read everything I wanted to read.

Now I'm tired.

I think I will eat a sandwich.

I have a great task ahead. I need books that will remind me the value of resolution and teach me about fixity of purpose, and that will offer me comfort and inspiration in the moments where my will starts to waver.

Work hard and have a great work ethic, don't eat sugar or trans fats, do calisthenics every day, read for at least one hour, always distrust women, do intermittent fasting, try to get laid as often as possible, never open your mouth unless you know what you're talking about and never take any shit from anybody. I agree that the lives of many people are a mess, and I think that it's even implied in my post that my own life is a mess. You have to start somewhere. Some people can handle putting a huge burden on themselves but most people have to improve one step at a time. Willpower is a great thing to have, the problem is that I don't think that OP has it. That's why the best choice is always to do some small change and overtime work on that small change and grow around that small change.
