Reåeating my question from last bread:

So there's this writing contest, right? And I want to participate in it. I've written three stories and need to pick one to send in. There stories are:
1. Story where a bunch of medieval monks encounter talking snails
2. Story about a Russian soldier in Ukraine who is captured and learns his wife has been cheating on him while he's been away
3. Story of a kid who doodles in his notebooks at school arguing with his teacher over his plans for the future
Which one do I send?

I'm going to write 3k words today. I've decided.

What's the deal with poetry? How do you even?

What are some good poems/poets/anthologies, for someone who's just started working to cultivate an appreciation for and understanding of poetry? You know, material that's worth reading, but also accessible.

What are the best books to read on how to write poetry and/or poetry analysis?

I want to elevate my poetry writing beyond 14 year old tier and also I want to be able to understand analysis of classic poems and poets.

I heavily, and respectfully disagree with your opinion.

/adv/ told me to kill myself, so I found a community of like minded people who also want to kill themselves, all of the time. Now we just talk about literature, and have a good laugh. When we're not busy being mad at philosophers or starting with the Greeks, we are depressed out of our minds, creating literature and discussing it with others. I love /lit/.

That just about sounds like what I read during my latter years in high school.

What was the last thing you have written, what was it called, and why?

In order to become truly /lit/, one must be a writer. Write something of value.

This is like comparing lobster to the all-you-can-eat buffet.
