people who read in public are larping. the physical book is an accessory to this larp. they want to show off what they are reading and an ereader does not serve their purpose.

Have any of you read two books at the same time? I want to buy I feel like I'd be cheating myself somehow if I did. Thoughts?

Verso's a very mixed bag, their classic stuff, Zizek, and more recently Mieville/Seymour are good, but there's a lot of dreck too, like the one with that American footballer called "What Makes White People Uncomfortable" or similar.

They basically started strong with Mark Fisher, then went downhill since to the point they'll publish a plain-covered book about literally anything. There's one about Vaporwave ffs. And they lean hard on that hack Nagle.
